When you begin a diet probably the most often heard pieces of advice is to keep a food log in which you write down every thing you eat during the day. Keeping a food log makes it possible to determine the foods you are eating as well as the foods you are not eating. One example is that, after tracking your food for a few days you could realize that you are consuming far too many sugars and unhealthy fats and not nearly enough organic nutrients. When you write every thing down youll be able to see which parts of your diet must change as well as have a lot easier time figuring out what kind and how long of a workout you need to do to shrink your waist line and burn the most calories.

But what happens if you write each and every thing down but still arent able to figure out how to lose fat? There is a proper way and a completely wrong way to observe your food. A food log isnt only a list of the items youve eaten during the day. You have to write down other vital pieces of information too. Here are a number of tips that you can use to help your food tracking be more successful.

What sort of feelings are you in while you eat? Write it down! This will show you whether you use food to solve emotional issues. It will even identify the foodstuffs you select when you are in certain moods. Lots of us will reach naturally for processed food when we feel disappointed or angry and we are more likely to select healthy options when we feel happy or content. When you pay attention to how you eat in the course of your different moods and emotional states, you will be able to keep similar but healthier options around for when you need those snacks--you might also start talking to someone who can help you figure out why you try to cure your moods with food.
